The European Tourism Association (ETOA) was founded in 1989 to be a voice for the incoming travel industry. It has evolved to champion of the value of the visitor economy and support better tourism. Based in Brussels and London with regional representation, it includes 350+ buyers selling Europe worldwide, 600+ suppliers and 120+ DMOs/NTOs, giving it direct access to a wide range of insight and market sentiment.
Tim leads ETOA’s non-commercial activity, including working groups and destination engagement, with a focus on governance and the business environment, capacity optimisation and product diversification, and enabling climate action. ETOA works with policy makers at all levels, industry partners, academics and local stakeholders.
Tim also coordinates the Tourism Manifesto, an alliance of over 70 sectoral organisations whose priorities for the new EU mandate include innovation and adaptation. He is a member of the Commission’s Together for EU Tourism (T4T) expert group. Following studies in France, Ireland, and the UK, he trained as a lawyer and mediator and worked in operations and product development before joining ETOA.
