Michael Casey

Chairman Decentralized AI Society

Michael Casey is a journalist, author, podcaster, business leader, public speaker and event host. His work focuses on the intersection of technology, money and society.

Casey is chairman and co-founder of the Decentralized AI Society (DAIS), which represents companies and protocol developers dedicated to building an open, decentralized, self-sovereign internet for the AI age. He is also a founder of Tell, which a Web3 platform for documentary filmmaking.

Until March 2024, Casey was CoinDesk’s chief content officer, overseeing an award-winning newsroom, and the Chairman of Consensus, CoinDesk’s annual event. He was also co-host of CoinDesk’s Money Reimagined podcast.

Prior to CoinDesk, Casey was a founding staffer at MIT Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative – where he continues to serve as a pro bono advisor – and a senior lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management. Before that, he was a senior columnist at The Wall Street Journal.

Casey has authored six acclaimed books. His latest is Our Biggest Fight: Reclaiming Liberty, Dignity and Humanity in the Digital Age, co-authored with the civic entrepreneur and Project Liberty founder, Frank McCourt.
