Climate change is gradually compromising some fragile tourist destinations, both in Italy and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rising global temperatures, the thawing of permafrost and enormous glaciers, droughts and \u2018unseasonal\u2019 extreme weather events have been included for the first time by International SOS<\/em> in the travel risk management maps on the same level with conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From the postponement of traditional holiday periods to the much more severe permanent loss of some attractive destinations, the climate crisis is changing the face of travel, the inspiration of travelers and the development plans of countries, many of which have tourism as one of their main economic assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What can be done to overcome the crisis? What is the responsibility of the travel industry?<\/p>\n\n\n\n How can we build up a long-term sustainable tourism economy with resident communities, also by exploiting technology?<\/p>\n\n\n\n We will discuss these issues in this panel with leading national and international stakeholders who have been working with territories for years to promote sustainable, resilient tourism that respects the environment and its communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
